About Lunar Block Shiraz Kurtz Family
The Kurtz Family Lunar Block Shiraz is a compelling expression of Eden Valley Shiraz, crafted from vines that bask under the cool, high-altitude nights that give this block its celestial name. On the nose, it opens with an alluring bouquet of dark plum, crushed blackberry, and dried violet, underpinned by a distinctive cool-climate peppery lift that sets it apart from its warmer Barossa Valley counterparts. The palate is richly layered yet retains an elegant tension, with ripe black cherry and mulberry fruit framed by supple, well-integrated tannins. Notes of dark chocolate, clove, and a whisper of cedar from careful oak maturation add complexity and depth. The finish is long, savoury, and persistent, with a lingering trail of cracked black pepper and iron-tinged minerality that speaks clearly of its high-altitude terroir.
