About Schieferkopf Riesling 750ML
Schieferkopf Riesling hails from the Alsace region of France, where Michel Chapoutier crafts wines on steep, blue-grey schist slopes — the 'Schieferkopf' (slate head) lending its mineral soul to every drop. The nose opens with vibrant aromas of white peach, lime zest, and crushed slate, underscored by delicate white blossom and a whisper of petrol that hints at graceful aging. On the palate, the wine is precise and electric, with a razor-sharp acidity that carries flavors of green apple, ripe apricot, and candied lemon peel. The schist terroir asserts itself with a stony, saline minerality that gives the wine remarkable tension and focus. The finish is long, clean, and crystalline, leaving a lingering impression of citrus oil and wet slate.
