About Save Our Soul Skin on Skin Chardonnay 2019 750ML
Save Our Soul Skin on Skin Chardonnay 2019 is an orange wine-style Chardonnay crafted with extended skin contact, yielding a wine of remarkable depth and textural intrigue. On the nose, it opens with bruised golden apple, dried apricot, and a haunting note of chamomile, layered with subtle beeswax and toasted almond. The palate is broad and grippy, with tannins rarely encountered in white wine — the skin contact lending a savoury, almost charcuterie-like complexity alongside quince paste and preserved lemon. There is a wild, oxidative quality that speaks to minimal intervention winemaking, with hints of ginger spice and dried orange peel weaving through the mid-palate. The finish is long, chalky, and warming, with a lingering note of roasted hazelnut and dried herbs that invites contemplative sipping.
